Rosemains Steading
Surrounded by rolling fields, the bustling rural community of Rosemains Steading is a collection of fourteen workshops designed as a hub for creative businesses to work side by side.
Completed in April 2021, the steading is built around the courtyard of the original farm at Rosemains. The recently renovated flexible workspaces have a central kitchen and office in which to meet and share ideas, collaborate and catch up. Recycled material from the old farm buildings have been used to create character and unique features.
Towards the end of 2023, Rosemains Steading officially became a Community Interest Company (CIC). The aim of this is to help bolster the resilience of our resident businesses. Our primary objectives are to provide a supportive framework, offering additional avenues to market for our entrepreneurs. This significant leap forward has been made possible through the generous funding granted by Tyne Esk Leader. Their financial support not only facilitated the incorporation of the CIC but is also enabling us to hire a part-time professional dedicated to optimising the impact that we have.
Since its formation, a series of quarterly markets have taken place at the steading which has provided an additional revenue stream for the residents, but also for other local businesses in our community.
