The Residents Of Rosemains Steading Are Joining Forces

We're thrilled to announce the establishment of our Community Interest Company (CIC), geared towards bolstering the resilience of our resident businesses at Rosemains Steading. Our primary objectives are to provide a supportive framework, offering additional avenues to market for our entrepreneurs. This significant leap forward has been made possible through the generous funding granted by Tyne Esk Leader. Their financial support not only facilitated the incorporation of the CIC but is also enabling us to hire a part-time professional dedicated to optimising the impact that we have.

Since the CIC's inception in September, we've successfully organized two vibrant makers markets. During these events, we opened our studio doors, welcoming visitors to explore the incredible range of products crafted here on-site. Including beautiful coffee mugs and picture frames to ceramic vases, wooden chopping boards, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer, herbal teas, coffee, and face creams – our resident makers showcase a truly remarkable array of offerings. Beyond our resident businesses, we were pleased to host a group of highly talented local enterprises, all contributing to fun family days out for our visitors and productive days for our vendors.

Looking ahead, our plan is to host four makers markets annually, so be sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming 2024 dates. The potential of the CIC is huge and hopefully it will be an exciting journey. The direction it takes will be shaped entirely by the preferences and needs of our Rosemains Steading community, and we cant wait to see it grow and evolve.
